Darkbad is a 20 page, rules lite fantasy roleplaying game inspired by the OSR and the flotsam floating around it. It is ugly, cheap, and lazy. A true callback to simpler times.

Proof that TTRPG's are in fact art, a parody and critique of recent gaming trends and yet has its own ideas and works in a somewhat disjointed way.
Darkbad, technically does more and says more than Kickstarters that get hundreds of thousands of dollars. Even if its a mocking warped reflection of recent gaming darlings like ShadowDark, Mork Borg, and a plethora of OSR Heart Breakers, written by an internet edgelord in a day or so.
Hot garbage.
Failed parody of ShadowDark, if that's what this is. SD has zero culture war or politics in it (half the reason I gave it look in the first place), and yet this pretentious piece of miserable humor is just politicized commentary on a game the designer obviously hasn't read, since said game has none of the elements DarkBad is trying to turn into a punchline.
Keep the ol' chip on your shoulder and keep blindly perpetuating the culture war in gaming, bro. So sick of the politics.
I'm embarrassed to have believed Shadow Dark to be the upmost peak of role-playing gaming. Dark Bad is innovative and straight to the point, it's layout immaculate, even surpassing my countrymen in every aspect. I shall repent with the help of a lifetime's worth of Dark Bad Gaming
